Low Contact Tournament Health & Safety Statement

Keeping our Teams, Appraisers & Volunteers Safe

This year we will be hosting a "low-contact" tournament, which includes several initiatives to keep everyone as safe as possible. We appreciate your consideration and cooperation in these matters!

  • If a team member, parent, spectator, volunteer or appraiser has COVID-19 symptoms or is otherwise ill, please have them stay home and consult a medical provider.

  • Masks are strongly encouraged for the safety of our volunteers and teams.

  • High-touch surfaces will be sanitized between performances.

  • Number of spectators will be limited to 15, primarily family members. The Team Manager has final determination of who can remain in the room.

  • Social distancing in sites for appraisers and spectators. Fifteen spectator chairs will be pre-set/distanced.

  • We will attempt to select the largest rooms for challenge sites.

  • There will be no food/drink available for purchase.

  • After their Instant Challenge performance, Teams may stop by the backdrop for a photo op, and will then exit the building.

  • At this time, the plan is for a virtual Award Ceremony. This may change depending on the situation.

Food & Drink

Teams & spectators are prohibited from eating anywhere in the building. Drinks are allowed but only in covered/sealed containers. Please contact us if this policy affects a known medical condition. TVNCDI@gmail.com.

Team Arrival Times

We will be limiting the number of teams in the building at a time. We are asking that teams arrive no earlier than 1 hour before their first performance with the following exceptions:

  • Engineering teams arrive 30 minutes before weigh-in

  • Extreme teams (not doing a second challenge) arrive 30 minutes prior to base camp time

All teams will be escorted to a holding area (1 per Challenge) to set up props, etc., and will be escorted to the Prep Area at the designated time. If the holding area is full, the next team on the schedule will be asked to wait outside until it becomes available.

It is our expectation that everyone will cooperate in our efforts to keep everyone safe. Teams (or their spectators) who intentionally and willfully violate these initiatives risk an unsportsmanlike conduct deduction to their scores.

Please direct any questions/concerns to the Regional Directors at TVNCDI@gmail.com
