Teams will rotate through 4 sessions. Sessions are 55 minutes each with a 5-minute passing period.

Adults accompanying the team are free (only 1 due to space issues).

The Rules:

• Registration and payment must be made by the team manager for the entire team. If this is not possible, please contact your district coordinator. Registrations made by individual parents (non team managers) will be deleted and will be charged a $2/team member administrative fee.

• Payment must be made at the time of registration - the system does not allow changing the registration or paying the fees at a later date. Do NOT register if you don't have confirmation from your attendees and assume you can go back later and pay. Registration is not complete until payment is received. Registrations that are unpaid will be deleted. 

• All teams must be accompanied by 1 adult ONLY (due to space).

• No additional non-team members or sibling tagalongs allowed. The workshop is for team members only.

• No walk-ins will be accommodated – team members must be registered in order to attend.

• A 35-minute lunch break is scheduled mid-workshop. Bring a sack lunch. There will not be enough time to go out.

• Team managers are expected to control their team members’ behavior. Failure to do so may result in the team being asked to leave.

Workshop Session Descriptions

Instant Challenge - Using Materials Effectively – Your team will learn how to use materials effectively in task-based challenges. Hands-on practice included!

 

Scripting Excellence – This interactive workshop session shows a team how to weave a wonderful story chock full of exciting twists and interesting characters.  A sure-fire method to help the team develop their unique DI-namite skit! 

 

Acting Out on Stage – This interactive session is all about presentation and theater skills.  Your team will learn how to block scenes, use the stage and self-direct.

  

Technically Innovative – What makes a technical creation innovative? Is it innovative if it solves the problem, looks cool and incorporates concepts from technical fields like physics, mechanics or computerization? Or does it take something more?  Learn what makes the technical design original and innovative to boost your score in this  hands-on session.
